혼자 하기 힘든 한국어 공부 BUT 동영상으로 배운다면 쉽고/빠르게/스스로 한국어 학습이 가능합니다!!

이 책은 한국어를 전혀 알지 못하는 외국인 학습자들이 한국어의 문자, 즉 한글을 가장 쉽고 빠르게 혼자 익힐 수 있도록 하기 위해 만들어졌습니다. 구체적인 책의 특징은 아래와 같습니다.

1. EASIEST

외국어 문자를 익히는 가장 이상적인 방법은 무엇일까요? 아마도 정확하게 쓰는 방법을 눈으로 보고 그 다음 스스로 종이에 써 보며 연습하는 것일 겁니다. 외국어 발음을 익히는 가장 이상적인 방법은 무엇일까요? 아마도 원어민이 발음하는 입 모양을 관찰하고 소리를 유심히 들은 다음 소리 내어 연습하는 것일 겁니다. 간단하죠? 하지만 지금까지의 책들에서는 그것이 그리 간단한 문제가 아니었습니다. 그래서 한글을 쓰는 법을 보여주는 간단한 애니메이션과 원어민의 발음 영상을 담은 비디오 파일을 만들어 이 책에 첨부했습니다. 이런 효과적인 동영상이 어쩌면 책 그 자체보다 더 중요할지도 모릅니다.

What’s the ideal way to learn foreign characters? Watching how to write them correctly and practicing writing them down on paper yourself. What’s the ideal way to learn a foreign language’s pronunciation? Watching and listening how to pronounce characters correctly, and practicing pronouncing them yourself. Simple, huh? But in a traditional book format, it’s not easy to get this key information across. So, I’ve added videos showing how native speakers pronounce characters. They also have animated motion pictures showing how to write Hangul in them. And the attached CD contains mp3 files which example sentences in step four are recorded with. These additional resources will help you understand what the book says.

2. FASTEST

글자를 쓰고 읽는 것은 최종 목표는 아닙니다. 그것은 언어를 배우는 첫 단계입니다. 여러분이 글자를 익히는 데 너무 많은 시간을 빼앗기지 않았으면 좋겠습니다. 그래서 가능한 얇고 가벼운 책을 만들고 싶었습니다. 하지만 이 책은 다음 단계를 위한 징검다리 역할도 하게 될 것입니다. 필수 동사/형용사, 실제적인 쓰임새를 보여 주는 예문들을 통해 여러분은 글자와 발음을 익히는 것은 물론 기초적인 한국어에 친숙해질 것입니다.

Writing and reading the alphabet is not the end goal. It’s the first step in learning the language. Therefore, I don’t want you to spend too much time on it. That’s why I wanted to make this book as brief as possible. But at the same time, this book is a bridge to the next step. With example sentences including sample words in step 2 and 3, you can become familiar with basic Korean as well as learning about characters and pronunciation.

3. BY YOURSELF

아쉽게도 현재 나와 있는 한국어 책 중에 집에서 홀로 한국어와 씨름하고 있는 외국인을 위한 책은 그리 많지 않습니다. 그것이 이 책을 영어와 일본어로 만든 이유입니다. 한글과 그 발음을 더 잘 설명하기 위해서는 학습자의 모국어를 이해하는 일이 필요합니다. 미국인의 학습 과정이 일본인 학습자와 같지는 않을 테니까요. 학습자가 어렵게 생각하는 발음이나 한글을 이해하는 방식은 모국어에 따라 다릅니다. 이 책에서는 이 점을 충분히 반영하려고 노력했습니다.

Unfortunately, there’re not enough Korean language books for foreigners struggling with Korean at home. So I wrote this book in English and in Japanese. That’s because I think to explain Hangul and its pronunciation better, it’s necessary to relate it to the learner’s native tongue. The learning process will not be the same for English native-speakers as it is for Japanese learners. What speakers of different languages find difficult, the way they listen, and the way they understand Hangul can be very different. So I’ve made an effort to give explanations that reflects this point, allowing different learners to study effectively on their own.
